Track Type

This option allows any MIDI track to be configured as a setup-track or a normal-track. A setup-track is a special MIDI track that only plays once per session to setup your synthesizers. This is useful if you have long sysex messages that you do not usually want sent in a long editing session.

Track Operation Menu

Archive/Unarchive Tracks

When a track is muted, Metro processes the track while playback is in progress so that you can un-mute the track without stopping playback. If you have lots of muted tracks, this can place a heavy load on your computer. Archived tracks, on the other hand, don't place any load on your computer. Therefore, if there are tracks you want to keep but don't need to play, you should archive them instead.

Freeze/Thaw Tracks

This option allows tracks to be frozen or thawed. It works only for software synthesizer tracks. Thawed is a track's normal state. When frozen, a track is converted to audio and cannot be modified until it is thawed. A frozen track usually saves computer resoources as the track does not have to be rendered to audio in real time.

Group/Ungroup Tracks

This option allows Tracks to be grouped together so that they are all selected when one is selected.

Video Menu

Render Video

Use the render video command (in the video submenu of the edit menu) to render the current video selection. This reduces the number of tracks of video to one and is similar to bouncing audio.
