Setting a Program Number in the Instruments Mixer Window Setting a program number in the Pgm field sends a Program Change to the Output. Use the Pgm field for auditioning different patch changes on your MIDI device withoutcommitting them to a track. Program Change events contained in MIDI tracks override Program settings associated with particular Outputs. Use the Pgm field in the Tracks window to encode a physical Program Event at the beginning of that track. Audio Tracks ignore an Output’s Program designation.
