Editing Here's a quick tutorial on MIDI editing. To edit audio, see Editing Audio. For this tutorial you need a Metro document that contains at least onerecorded MIDI track. The Graphic Editor window is the most frequently used of Metro's editing windows. Let's start by doing some MIDI editing in the Graphic Editor window: In the Tracks window, double-click the name of a MIDI track. The Graphic Editor window appears, displaying data from the track you selected. Notice the name of the track in the track titlebar just above the keyboarddisplay on the left side of the window. Make sure the Graphic Editor window is in Notes display mode by clicking the display data type popup menu that is located toward the middle of the track titlebar to the left of the output name. Notice the different kinds of data listed in the display data type popup menu. Click the Arrow Tool that is located next to the Pencil in the Graphic Editor window's toolbar. Use the Arrow tool to drag through several notes in the Notes display area.For more information about selection tools, see Editing Notes in the Graphic Editor Window Now that you have selected some data, you can choose any of the editingcommands in the Edit or Options menus to edit the data. For more information, see The Edit Menu and The Options Menu (quantize, transpose, etc.). Display another track by clicking the '+' sign that is just above the keyboard display. Metro can display up to 16 tracks in the Graphic Editor window. Click the track name of the new track and select the name of the first trackyou displayed. Metro displays two copies of the first track's note data. In the second track, click the data display type popup menu and select Pitch Bend. Now you can see your track's notes lined up precisely above their corresponding pitch bend data. Click the Pencil Tool and draw some Pitch bend data, if you like.
