Faders Faders allow you to adjust the values of various controller data, such as Volume or Pan. Metro offers up to 254 faders, each of which is associated with an Output. You set the controller that a fader affects by specifying it as a parameter of the fader’s associated Output. Outputs assigned to an audio port use a special kind of 15 bit volume fader which allows 32,767 steps between minus infinity and 0 dB. The high resolution volume fader allows smoother volume modulation when Audio Tracks contain volume automation data. In addition to using faders to adjust controller values, you can use them torecord controllers and their values as controller events. Again, this meansthat each time a track plays back and the Counter reaches a particular Controllerevent, Metro sends the appropriate controller data. During playback or record, all faders automatically move according to the values of the Controller events Metro sends to the corresponding Outputs. Faders can also be controlled from external hardware (such as a JL CooperFadermaster, Peavey PC1600, or Lexicon MRC) using Metro’s Remote Control window, which is explained in The Remote Control Window.
