Defining a drum map for a percussion instrument

When you choose Drums, Percussion, or Snare Drum from the Instruments pop-upmenu, METRO displays a Drum Map grid for that instrument type. This displayderives names and note assignments from the currently selected drum set in METRO,with a maximum of sixteen drum assignments per staff.

There are five fields in the drum map table:

  • Pitch. The pitch for the chosen instrument.

  • Name. This field displays the drum name.

  • Head. The notehead assigned to the corresponding drum and pitch.

  • Position. The staff position for that drum’s notation.

  • Voice. The voice of a drum note.
