MIDI Recording Tutorial

In this tutorial, you’ll be playing back from the same MIDI device that you’re recording from, so you’ll be using Ports on all tracks. Ports allow a track to play the device and the device channels originally recorded on that track. At start-up, Metro initially assigns Ports to all tracks in the Trackswindow. Ports also allow each track to record up to 16 independent channels and playback separate events on separate channels

There are two types of Outputs you may work withMet90000.gifPorts and Metro Outputs. When either running under OS X (using MIDI System Services) or under OS 9 with OMS is installed, Metro can also automatically extract Metro Outputs from your Current Studio Setup document. For information on how to set up a custom Metro Output configuration, see Using Outputs, Ports, and Faders. For details about Metro Outputs, see Outputs Under OMS or MSS.
