Step Recording Step Recording is a process that lets you precisely enter notes one at a time in the Graphic Editor window. Step Recording is extremely useful when you want to record a difficultpiece. You can Step Record notes a few different ways: In the Graphic editor window with the Pencil Tool selected, either click where you want to place the note, or click the AudibleKeyboard (found within the Graphic Editor’s Notes display) on the note you want to enter. You can also set an insert point and then play your MIDI controller devicewhile the Horizontal Keyboard icon is selected at the top of the Graphic Editor window. See Step Recording from a MIDI Device. Step recording can also be performed within the Graphic Editor window’s Drums display by selecting the Pencil Tool and clicking on available Drum Names. New Drum Strikes will be enteredstarting at the specified insertion point. Clicking the Channel icon (directly to the right of the Rest button) allows you to choose a different channel on which to transmit steprecorded notes.
