Import Movie

Choose the Import Movie command to load a QuickTime Movie file into the current Metro session. A dialog box will appear in which you may select the movie you want toopen; then click Import or double-click on the QuickTime Movie file to open it within Metro's QuickTime window. Click the Preview button in order to preview the selected movie within theOpen Movie dialog.

If you have a double speed (or faster) CD-ROM drive that supports audio extraction, Import Movie and Import Audio File are great for importing a CD audio track directly into a Metro track. Choosea CD track within the Import Movie dialog, then click Save. The imported audio track will be saved to disk as an AIFF file and loaded into the first empty track.

note02.gif Important: OS X handles audio CDs differently. The tracks on the CD appear as AIFF files in PC format. Import them as you would normal audio files.

Click the Options button to bring up the Audio CD Import Options dialog.

note02.gif Note: Older versions of QuickTime had default settings for Audio CD Import set to 22.050 KHz 8 bit Mono. You will probably want to adjust these settings for better quality.

Choose the CD Audio import settings before saving and importing your CD audio track. Use 44.100 KHz 16 bit Stereo, which is the standard setting for CD audio (Red Book Audio). Remember your internal CD-ROM must support 'Audio Extraction' in order for Metro to import CD audio tracks (most Apple factory-installed 2x or higher CD-ROM drives support Audio Extraction).
