Pencil Tool Clicking the Pencil Tool turns the cursor into a data entry tool. When you click within the Notes orDrums display of the Graphic Editor window, you will place notes or Drum Strikes wherever you click inside that track. Duration is determined by the note value you have chosen in the Graphic Editor's Note pop-up menu or Note Value field; velocity and channel are determined by the settings in the Velocity and Channel fields at the top of the Graphic Editor window. Use the Pencil Tool to place continuous data within any of the Graphic Editor window's 'continuous data' displays as well.
