Saving Magnification

Postby Territan » Sun Jun 12, 2011 8:29 pm

In the Graphic Editor, there are two icons for magnification control. One increases, the other decreases. Clicking on those icons increases or decreases the horizontal zoom, making the piano roll and the notes on it longer.

Moreover, option-clicking those icons increases or decreases the vertical zoom, making the piano roll and the notes on it wider.

As it stands, I run my laptop at 1920x1200, so the Graphic Editor window tries to show me ...16 octaves. It doesn't really, though; the bottom five all show as note C-2 (that's five octaves below middle C).

I don't need that much vertical resolution. And while the Tracks window let me save the magnification, the Graphic Editor always loads up at the same eye-squinting, difficult-to-work-with size. How do I save the Graphic Editor at a more manageable magnification?

Re: Saving magnification?

Hello Territan,

I am not sure if you set the zoom size and then save preferences (from the preferences dialog) will work. I think it should. In any case I believe if you save a document with the desired zoom levels it should load up the correct way so you could save your basic setup as a .msd file (Metro Stationary document) and then open that each time you start up.

If saving preferences does not work let me know.

Fixed Re: Saving Magnification

Okay this has been fixed in 6.5.0.1 (unreleased as of yet).

In 6.5.0.1 the horizontal and vertical magnification are saved automatically when the program is quit and restored when it is launched.
