Cue Looping With Latest Version

Postby jthibeault » Mon Nov 13, 2006 1:16 am

Running the latest pre-release with the new awesome drum editor (THANK-YOU!). I'm trying to change the tempo while I'm cue looping and playback will stop. If I try to start it back up again, it plays for a bit, then randomly stops, but definitely won't loop at all.

File saved with tempo at 110BPM (looping works after loading file). This happens after loading the song and slowly adjusting the tempo with the tempo slider in the transport to 90BPM.

Do you have the cue loop button on in the transport?

Yes. What's really weird is after I posted the message I went back and tried reopening the document (which I had not saved or updated) and I could no longer loop it. I tried a new document and still it would not loop.

Another aspect of this is that not only would it not loop, it would randomly stop after playing a section of the cue (if bars 1-4 were set as the cue, then it would stop in a random spot within those 4 bars).

If you need any other specific info please ask. I would really like to work on stuff over Thanksgiving weekend. I appreciate the support.

This could be tricky to duplicate. I just tried it again and it was looping with no problems. I'll have to do more testing before I can really determine what is causing this. More info to come...

Found the source of the problem!

Postby jthibeault » Mon Nov 20, 2006 2:11 am

I have the digital optical ins/outs hooked up to a Korg workstation synth, which runs at 48Khz. I had the sample rate in Metro set at 44.1Khz. For some reason Metro didn't like having 48Khz audio coming in when it was set to 44.1Khz.

I set Metro to 48Khz and the problem went away. It didn't just affect cue looping, it also affected regular playback as well.

Sorry for putting this in the bugs section. It really isn't a bug.
