NO SOUND ON PLAYBACK

It looks like I'm recording...the graphic field displays the evidence of recording. If I import an audio file and play it back, it works fine. But when I try and play back anything I've recorded, there is no sound. I'm mystified...any clues?

Have you tried running through the online tutorial regarding audio recording?
