Ability to quantize markers (markerlist)

Postby Lytz1 » Wed Jul 15, 2015 8:25 am

Pretty straightforward feature request.

I'd like to see the ability to quantize markers with the normal quantize dialog,
which would add some nice workflow enhancements.

(Like you could quantize the markers to a rythm track, which would help with changing rythm of a chordprogression.
Right now all the editing that needs to be done to play around with this
is just not worth the heavy time investment.
Way too tedious to do. With anything more than a couple of chords you can forget this alltogether.
When we could quantize all that stuff to a track however, this would be a matter of seconds.)

Thanks,

tL.

I know this is a bit different but can't you use 'detect and insert markers' coupled with the note editor quantize setting?

Hm. I know what you mean, but nah, not really.

The problem is editing a bunch of markers *that are already there* when I want to change some stuff or move some stuff around.

Right now I have to do this one-after-the-other which is not only completely boooooooring as hell but also

negates the creative process in that moment. (with markers being the only way to edit a chordprogression after insertion or detection,

the editing of the markers itself is the bottleneck here)

Best,

tL.

EDIT: Hm. Thinking about what you said, I might have another approach, however it's pretty late over here,

but I will try some stuff tomorrow and let you know if it worked.
