Midi play thru

Postby rickscarborough » Mon Mar 08, 2004 2:08 pm

I'm using OSX.2.8, G4733, Audiophile 2496, ekeys controller, Metro SE 6.1.

There is no play thru option in Digital Audio Setup with any option or in Core Audio Setup.

I can see input working on VU in Tracks window when I play the keyboard controller but hear nothing. (

I can hear the recorded track playback as well as the virtual keyboard in the "select sound for channel" window.

Please advise
Thanks
Rick

I assume your device is happy and appearing in the audio/midi setup of OSX and is connected to the midi interface.

Have you allocated an output to the particular controller you are using?

for example, you could play your synth and have it outputting to internal (quicktime instruments) and you would hear the quicktime instrument currently selected.

you could place a virtual instrument on a track (by dragging a VSTi plugin to the effect window of a track) and allocate an output to the VSTi (modify outputs and busses from the setup menu) and have your keyboard play it.

From the switches menu, try turning on "Automatic MIDI thru".

Thank You!

I thought I had read all the options. I guess I'm getting hard of looking.

Instant fix

Thanks again

Save preferences to retain the auto-thru-on setting.
