Introduction to Synchronization

When a drummer or bass player in a band provides the beat for the other musicians to follow, all the musicians are synchronized. When multiple MIDI devices use the same timing source, the devices are synchronized. Usually, one device is designated as the master timing source and the other devices follow that source. The device providing the timing source is called the 'master' and the other devices the 'slaves'.
