Constrain Note Dragging Enable this option to constrain the movement of selected notes in the Graphic Editor to a single axis, based on the initial mouse movement. When this option ison, if you initially drag a note vertically, you are constrained to move thenotes only vertically. If you initially drag horizontally, you are constrained tothat axis. The constraint resets itself when you release the mouse button. If you want to switch momentarily to unconstrained note selection while thisoption is active (or vice versa), you can do so by holding down Shift-Option before you begin dragging the notes. This toggles to the opposite behavior for thatoperation only. The next time you drag notes, they behave according to theswitch setting (unless you again hold these keys down).
