Drums Display

Typing the d key, or choosing Drums from the Data Type pop-up menu within the current track’s titlebar, changes the desired track to show note data in the Drum Griddisplay.

The Drum Grid display shows the Drum Names associated with the currentuser-definable Drum Sets assigned to a given track. Note events associated with eachDrum Name are shown as graphical Drum Strikes; each of the six available DrumStrike icons is displayed according one of the six user-definable velocityranges. Velocity Ranges are saved within a Drum Set.

One of the advantages of Drum Grid style editing is that all Drum Names (drumtimbres) are displayed across a single track, yet editing operations can beeasily performed affecting only the data across a single Drum Name (drum timbre)within that track. In fact, within a single Drum track, all data acrossindividual Drum Names (drum timbres) can be muted, soloed, selected, nudged andprocessed. For all intents and purposes, Metro’s Drum Grid can be thought of as having another hundred or so tracks within asingle track.
