Step entry keyboard toggle remote command

Postby vicpierce » Tue May 05, 2020 12:21 pm

This would be useful. I could not figure out to accomplish Graphic window step entry keyboard toggle from the list of commands available. Can you suggest a way?
Thanks.

Do you mean a keyboard key that switches to step entry mode?

No, I meant a command for the remote control window, like Play, Stop, Record, Cue, etc. - some 84 commands in all. I use a Nektar Impact controller to feed Metro. It is so convenient not to have to continually reach for the computer keyboard or mouse. A keyboard key that toggles step entry mode - like the Q key for Graphic Window clicks the Arrow Tool - would be fine if I could figure out how to use remote commands to send that key. Would that be the "Keystroke" command with parameter to specify the key?
Thanks Jeremy,

Yes, that should work.

I have added 'S' for step entry in the next beta release. So assigning that key command to remote control should also work in that version.

That's great! I entered the keystroke command and see that there is a fill-in key parameter. It allows specifying both lower and upper case. How cool is that!
Thanks Jeremy,
