By the description, it allows you to use soundfonts.

With OSX, Metro allows you to use them already.
In the plugins window is an effect called - DLSMusicDevice which you can put a soundfont into to use, instead of QT instruments.

SoundFontSynth works in metro but there is a noticeable delay while playing live, which I don't feel when using it into garage band.

I can't find how to add sf to DLSMusicDevice, the only choice appearing is the QT synth...

To fix the delay you can configure the audio packet size to be 384 or less in the digital audio device options dialog.

If you have a midi track you can place a DLSMusicDevice in as an effect.

In the effects/synths window that the DLSMusicDevice is on, is a large button (just left of the reverb). If you click it you can then find and install a SF from here.
