Aphex Aural Exciter

I'm wondering if the Aphex Aural Exciter, which is a TDM plugin, will work in Metro.
If not, is there anything equivilant available that will work in Metro ?

As far as I know (and it is not much) TDM plug-ins only work with Digidesign Pro Tools.
I don't know too many exciters available on the market. Izotope has Ozone 3, which they call an Analog Modeling Plug-In. It has a nice multi-band exciter built-in.

You could also try searching kvr.

There's 2 camps. TDM and everyone else.

TDM for the DSP and hardware cards and then digi also has RTAS plugins requiring the computer's CPU to do the work (budget LE version you'd find with a digi 001 interface for instance).

Would assume metro could run RTAS versions but it's all very proprietary.

Hopefully the greenoak is close?

Metro currently supports AU and VST formats. RTAS plugins would not work.

And I think audiosuite if you can still find them.

Correct but if digi stopped having such a closed system, the RTAS version would be the one to work with Metro.

Personally I would think the TDM and RTAS developers have a short life expectancy unless they bring their tools to VST, AU and other PC equilvalents.
