I've unsuccessfully tried to do an upgrade on a sound module via midi with metro. Then I used a small free app called SysEx Librarian and it worked...
Is there a special procedure to dump sysex data with metro? Maybe I've missed something.

There is nothing special, simply import MIDI or open sysex file and play back. Some devices are particularly sensitive to the timing of sysex data though.
