aloisen font in OSX

Postby Scoot » Sat Sep 27, 2003 5:37 pm

Jerm - is the aloisen font necessary in OSX?
I did a find for it and the only places I have it are in the metro folder and in the OS9 system folder. Launching in X doesn't ask for it and I can see notation just fine.
Yet François sent me a screen capture and metro was asking for the font and since it had an aqua dialog and a X desktop I assume he's in X.

Scooterman,

Aloisen is definitely necessary for notation. The reason it works is because OS 10.2.x finds fonts in your OS 9 system folder (I believe).

I've had Alosien installed for several years now in my OS9 System Folder and it's always showed up as usuable in OSX graphics apps. Interestingly enough, I just tried to add it to my OSX font folder and received a message that said:

"The item "Alosien" could not be moved because "Fonts" can not be modified."

;)

DA EDIT:

I see what's going on now. I was trying to copy the font to System/Library/Fonts rather than to Users/UserName/Library/Fonts.

This OS has too many danged Libraries... LOL!
