Metro and Maudio hardware

Postby jopey » Fri Feb 14, 2003 7:08 am

HI fellow Metro users.
I'm going to upgrade from Metro 5 to Metro 6 soon.
I was wondering if anyone has used Metro 6 with
the Midiman 2x2usb midi box and/or the M-Audio
Delta 1010lt soundcard.
Also....how are the stock effects in Metro and does it
include any instruments (VSTi)
Thanks and Happy VD DAY!!

Metro hanging notes and duplicates

Postby wayne » Wed Feb 19, 2003 5:03 am

I just swithched over from a Mac 8600 modem/printer/scsi setup (where I had no problems at all using Metro) to a Powerbook G3 MAC, USB system with an M-Audio MIDISP0RT 8X8/S interface. I am having lots of problems with stuck notes and duplicate note recording. I have turned all synths to Local Off. I have spent over 2 hours on the phone with the M-Audio Tech and we couldn't figure it out. Do you know of anyone having this problem? Can you shed some light on why this is happening. Thanks.
Wayne :x

Unfortunately I had to return my MIDISport 8x8 and get an edirol 8x8 because the MIDISport driver had some major problems.

USB 2X2usb

Postby MediaUnion » Sat Feb 22, 2003 11:12 pm

MIDI USB:
I'm really pleased with my MidiSport2X2usb and have had no troubles so far. :? I'm only pushing 4 units at this time though. For the cost, ($60-$70) the midi port indicators are nice when troubleshooting your setup. When I first bought it, notes were not shutting off but it turned out to be the synth midi-in cable wasn't plugged in ALL the way. Duh...

As for Effects, there are some MAC Carbonized and Classic VST effects with Metro that I have really come to appreciate lately.
There are lots to choose from...Waves(beautiful but expensive) to Internet freeware(Some are awesome, but user beware  ). Many of the Carbonized effects from the Bias Peak 3 Demo I'm messing with are pretty nice too. I'm still working on that that upgrade....
