remapping drum pitches to instruments

Postby cdade » Wed Mar 12, 2003 7:36 pm

I'm trying to figure out how to remap pitches..during recording.

Let's say I want to play an E2 and have it come out as a D1

I want to be able to record the sounds real time remapped.

How do I do it.

Here's the problem I have an old drum machine with 4 pads (a Yamaha DD5) that are transmit A2 D#3 E2 A1 only.

I want to set up the pitches to play the sounds I want to hear during the recording (as opposed to tranposing them later) so that I can get a could feel.

Here's my setup

PowerMac 7100/80 56Meg Ram running 7.5.5.

Yamaha DD5
Metro 5 OMS 3
A Roland SC-88
GSAE 2.5.0

Korg DW 8000
Roland GR-1

Though I've been using various flavors of Metro fo a few years (with quicktime instuments) I just recently acquired the SC88 and the GSAE 2.5.0 so I'm guess I'm getting a bit satuated(I'm feeling increasingly stupid).

Anyone have anything similar that can give me a hint.

Remap pitches

Perhaps you should post a feature request in this forum. The only way this would be possible currently would be if your controller keyboard had such a function.
