Obviously to be used for things we can repeat over and over again in exactly the same way............so it wasn't just a system problem.

I can think of one right away.
The new demo quits when I move the dynamic plugin from the plugin window to the track window.
OS 10.2.4

I cannot repeat this. The new demo? Which version is that (From get-info)? Which plug-in are you moving? Moving? Do you mean dragging?

Version 6.0.5i4 Downloaded yesterday as I just got Jaguar recently.

Double click metro
command 9
command 0

drag Apple:AU Dynamics Processor from plugins to effects and metro unexpectly quits.

If it works for you I may have a corrupt dynamics processor.

I don't know where metro is getting these plugins from as they are not in the metro folder and I have found several 'audio' and 'plug in' folders on the hard disk that are all empty.

These are Apple computer's built-in plug-ins (AudioUnits). Apple knows about this dynamics processor problem. I thought I had disabled the dynamics processor plug-in in 10.2.2. Perhaps it is still broken. I will investigate!

Ok. I did some investigating. The way I had decided to deal with this is to hide the dynamics processor plug-in in Metro 6 if the user is running OS 10.2.3 assuming that it would be fixed :( in any subsequent OS releases.

Please tell me what OS version you guys are running?

10.2.4

Its good to know its an apple bug and nothing you have to quickly solve in Metro Jerm.

Maybe you should write Apple's audio plugs.

Hot off the CoreAudio mailing list from Bill Stewart (Apple software engineer).
"Whilst we will fix the V1 version of this unit, there will also be a V2 version at that point anyway.

We are not doing any further development of V1 based units - as far as we are concerned they are deprecated"

Therefore, in 6.05i5 and after the buggy V1 dynamics audio unit plug-in will not appear. When the V2 version is included with an OS update, it will appear. I presume this wil be 10.2.5 but I do not know.

Has the dynamics processor plug been fixed in 10.2.5?

Has anyone noticed any improvements in audio in the system update?

An excellent substitute for the Apple dynamics plug-in can be found here:
