Vokator AU crash

Postby Achim » Thu May 29, 2003 4:12 am

First things first: Thanks a lot for the last beta - the "disk too slow" error is gone at last with my EMI6|2m :).

I'm beta-testing the Vokator AU right now. It opens without a problem in Rax (and according to other testers also in Logic). In Metro SE 6.0.7 it crashes Metro on startup - not shure whether it's a Vokator or a Metro bug, but I'll attach the console log - maybe it's of use.

Best, Achim.

As you may see, the crash is occuring in the Audio Unit. It may be in a host callback and thus it could be Metro. Have you sent this log to the manufacturer? If they want to send me a beta copy I will be glad to provide more info.

Yes, the bugreport went to NI first, of course. But since the bug occurs only in Metro (afaik) and Vokator works very well in Rax 0.3.3b, I thought it might be helpful to post it here, too.

Best, Achim.

I have contacted NI and the product manager of Vokator has responded so I suspect this problem with be eventually resolved. I will post here as soon as I know something further. Thanks.

I have been snail-mailed a NFR of Vokator so I should be able to diagnose the problem and fix it if it is a Metro problem or pass info on to NI otherwise.

We received Vokator today. There is definitely some problems using the VST versions of Vokator with Metro. We are currently working on adding better compatibility and expect to see a much more compatible Metro is 6.0.7.4.

As far as the audiounit version goes, it doesn't seem to be in the shipping version so I need to contact NI to find out where I can get my hands on this.

The VST versions of Vokator are working very nicely in OS X with Metro now. This is an amazing plug-in. I am on the beta-test list for the AU but I still need to receive the authorization CD before I can use/debug it (I think).

I cannot fix all the problems in Vokator Beta AU version 1.0.2.004. I am hoping that NI will look into this after posting several messages on their mailing list.

How many problems are you expected to fix while working with a beta?

Many thanks to Kent over at NI for fixing this problem. As of AU version 1.0.2.006 of Vokator it works nicely with Metro. 8)
