Configuring the Graphic Editor Window

When the Graphic Editor window is active, using the Option-Up and Option-Down Arrow keys changes the view of the active track to show the next adjacent track. This is a convenient feature for scrolling through track displays and copyingdata between tracks.

The Graphic Editor window can display multiple tracks in a variety of DataType display modes. In a MIDI track, you’ll see the following types (letters on left are keyboard shortcuts):

n Notes

d Drums

k Controllers

a After Touch

t Tempo

p Pitch Bend

  • Average Velocity

g Program Change

In an audio track you’ll see these types:

Audio

Volume

Pan

Tempo

You can choose a track’s display mode by clicking and holding the mouse on the Data Type pop-up menu in its title bar. In Metro’s default configuration, a new (empty) track defaults to the Notes (pianoroll) display. Changing the Port to an audio device causes Metro to record new digital audio tracks rather thanMIDI tracks.
