I have ports allocated to my Yamaha synth. Also a few to DSLmusicdevice (lets say 1-4).

If I were to add 16 to the DSL port and say 'replace', why does it clear my yamaha ports? Why can't it just replace the DSL's? :D
I suppose it doesn't recognise words.
ok I can add 12 DSL's starting at 5 and going through to 16.

Can you remove ports individually?
Clicking them with option or shift keys just selects them. Actually shift does have an interesting effect.
(I'm trying to keep my yamaha ports even though it ain't plugged in right now).

Scooterman,

You are confusing me. I think you mean instruments when you say ports. You cannot remove ports except by changing your studio setup document or deleting your synth plug-ins. Ports are collected automagically when your studio document changes.

You can delete instruments from the instruments window.

Replace does what it says... replace.

Instruments are configurations and ports are output destinations. So instruments configure where the final Audio or MIDI output is sent.
