Mute notes

Postby fastlanephil » Wed Aug 05, 2015 6:29 pm

Hello Jeremy,

Maybe there is a way to select and mute notes in the Graphic Editor that I don't see but if not it might be a nice feature. What I do now is either push the notes up or down out of the range of the instrument or pull them forward in time. I could see using a feature like this when arranging but not always. It's just an idea. Probably not worth spending too much time on.

I would cut the selection and then select a new track and paste it into the new track. Then mute, archive or assign the port to 'off' on the new track.

Yes, that is another option depending on what you're doing. Thanks.

Muting notes might make sense if you wanted to cut just a few notes to a track measure for a listen but I guess it wouldn't be much of a time saver.

Personally I think it would be confusing, unless the notes were drastically highlighted in some way to make it obvious that the notes are currently muted.

I read some news about DP9 adding this feature awhile back and I've found a video showing it with the new DP9 features on YouTube. It looks like the DP9 green piano roll notes become pale when muted. I did another search for DP9 user responses about it and they look to be not too excited about it.
