The most important change in this version, is the fix of a hang that was introduced in 6.07. This happens when synth plug-ins are on a track that is looped and then a cue loop occurs that ends even with the end of the track. This could easily happen with, for example, a one bar loop.

Fixed a problem where, when cue looping, a synth plug-in track may not play any notes near the beginning of the loop on the 2nd and/or subsequent loops.

Fixed a problem that was causing (the new feature introduced in 6.07) program changes mapped to presets to be severely delayed during record. This feature also now includes the ability to select the programs (presets) by name in the graphic editor. This also has the added benefit of enabling the use of 'program names to tracks' to get the effect preset name to the track name.

Fixed problems where the track's Bank was getting set incorrectly from popup (introduced in 6.07).

Fixed problem when general system preferences setting (in OS X) was set to 'scroll to here', dragging the scrollbar thumb in the graphic editor did not work correctly.

A Core Audio device overrun on output was resulting in a 'Disk too slow to record' message instead of a 'Disk too slow to playback' in some cases.

Fixed a problem where the offline effects processor was not allowing the update of edit windows after presets were selected.

Some changes were made to effects presets to make this version more compatible with Unity session.

Dynamic synth plug-in program name lists are now handled better. In previous versions it was possible to have dangling names from previous sessions depending on when preferences were saved.

The algorithm for loading plug-ins has changed. The plug-ins unique ID is now searched for first. This change makes it possible, for example, to open the same document in OS 9 and OS X and have Metro find the correct version of the plug-in in both cases.

Fixed a problem with the G4 version and offline plug-ins. This problem manifested itself by producing a little helicopter noise in the output. It only happened when multiple audio regions were selected.

If a synth plug-in was installed on a track and during record, controllers 7 or 10 were used, the volume and pan would erroneously affect the audio automation of the output assigned to the synth plug-in. Now the data is simply placed in the track.

Where is it?

I followed the link, which took me to the downloads page. There was nothing listed as the 6.0.7.1 pre-release, just the demos, tutorials, and RE presets.

I just tried it with expander version 7 and it worked fine. Perhaps you might want to try downloading again.

I just downloaded 7.0.3 of expander and now I get the same problem. I think there may be a bug in this version of expander.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to locate an older version of Expander.

I have done some investigation and it seems like if you open the downloaded archive and delete the very last byte (in a hex editor), it will expand fine. The problem appears to be related to a combination of expander 7.0.3 and the way our download system works. Apparently if the archive is an odd number of bytes a pad byte is added upon download and expander can't handle it.

Although I have not done extensive testing I think the error can be safely ignored since the expanded files seem fine.

Ok. This problem has been fixed. It was related to our download system. It was adding a space to the file and for some strange reason older versions of expander were working.
