Reverb Plug-in Issue

Postby fastlanephil » Thu Mar 12, 2015 1:39 pm

Hello Jeremy,

I’m using the reverb plug-in Valhalla VintageVerb from Valhalladsp.com. The VST version basically works fine in OS X 10.10.2 but if you click off its edit window it freezes on the display. So if you want to hide Metro 7 you still see the plug-in window on the screen and if you click on it, it brings back Metro. The AU version of the plug-in doesn’t have this issue.

Valhalladsp.com has free demos of it’s products if you wish to look into it.

I tried to download the demo but I couldn't. Perhaps it has to do with this comment from the FAQ

DEMOS:

Where did the demos go?

I took them down, as I have to build new demo versions to reflect the updates for all plugins (AAX, new algorithms, etc.). I’ll be posting the new demo versions in February 2015.

I think you may be able to fix this with the 'open in a compositing window' option of the plug-ins window. Right-click on the plug-in in the plug-ins window and set this option before instantiating.

That option was already selected.

I just purchased an equalizer and it's having the exact same issue with the VST version.

It's called IIEQ Pro from ddmf.eu. It does have a free demo for download.

If you don't see a problem maybe it's my setup. The AU versions have no issue.

Try un-selecting it then.

Also try changing the 'PrefersCarbonView' option and then re-instantiate.

Selecting "Retain editor On Window Close" took care of the issue for both plug-ins.

Thanks for your help!
