Graphic Editor Changes in 7.2.3

I was surprised to start working in Metro 7.2.3 and find some major changes to the Graphic Editor.

1.) In the toolbar, the waveform tool (which used to be above the magnifying glasses) is gone. This was a quick and very handy way to move around audio regions. Why was this killed, and is there any easy way to do it now?

2.) The arrow tool seems to be locked to time subsections and cannot select anything except in units of 1/8 notes on the grid. I'm assuming there's a way to release this but I can't find it. Yes, I have explored the manual

Yes. The audio waveform tool was removed because it was inconsistent between audio and MIDI. You can still get that functionality by selecting 'Region Editing' from the switches menu.

As for the cursor quantize, what you want to do is either turn off 'note editor quantize' or change the 'quantize mode' to 'absolute'. Both can be selected from the switches menu. Once you have it the way you like it, don't forget to then save preferences.
