Loops won't play after pasting

Postby Paul » Wed May 15, 2013 4:07 am

Hi there,

I have had this problem since quite a while so I thought I'd make a bug report. I have loaded a drumloop in Kontakt 5. I then step-record a 1-bar note to trigger that loop, after which I copy the bar and paste it four times (so I overwriting the 1st bar as well, this way I don't have to first select bar 2). When playing back the four bars, bar 2 won't trigger the loop. In this case, bars 3 and 4 do trigger the beat. When I shorten the note slightly, the second bar will play.

The problem also exists when using ABL2 by Audio Realism.

I'm currently on Metro 7.0.1, OSX 10.7.5.

Would you like a Metro-file or a standard midi file? Where can I send this file to? It won't contain much data, other than the four notes I described...

If it is what I think it is, it is fixed in 7.1. Due out by the end of this month.

You can send a Metro file or a MIDI file to info AT sagantech.biz

Thanks for the file Paul.

This should definitely be corrected in 7.1.

It was round off error. As you have noticed, if you shorten the duration of the note by 1 clock it will work.

The problem is the MIDI concept of note on and note off. These need to be calculated at very high precision for soft synths. The order sent to the plug-in has to also be very precise as a note on at the same time as a note off will cut off the note on, as you are seeing.
