copying metro documents

Postby françois » Tue Apr 29, 2003 12:31 am

the midifiles are now on the sections of the metro document format , and so if I save it after as midifiles, I will loose the ports affectations.... and it's a long job to reaffect each track to the correspondant port ( 4 midi out in my exemple ).

Could you expect to think at a solution in the future ?

:?:

I would like to be able to copy / add , few or all the song from a metro document to another metro document

thanks

hi françois

From what you wrote you imported standard midi files into Metro and they appeared in the Sections window as seperate midi files. You have set different ports for them and then exported them out as midi files?

If you save them as Metro files (or one Metro file with 'save as') you will keep all your port settings for each midi file.

If you export out as a standard midi file you will always lose that information as normal midi files don't hold that information.

Midi files in the Sections window can be copied to another document with copy and paste. Problem is I think you have to take them over one at a time. You could duplicate the document and delete the ones you don't want or open the original document, copy one midi file, say new, paste, save that document, go back to original copy another, open the new doc, paste etc.....

If I have completely misunderstood what you were really asking please give us a little more information.

You have 100 songs in the sections window?
I thought it was limited to 32?

100 songs in the jukebox?
