I have a mix project to complete. The files are in the wave format, 32 bits at 96khz on 4 tracks. I can't figure how to open these files in metro, when I try to import it just quit.
Any help?

Did you try dragging them to the graphic editor?

If it just quit, what version of Metro are you running? Can you email me a very small cut out of one of the files for analysis?

I've separate the 4 tracks into 2 stereo tracks with Audacity. Now Metro tell me that they are of unsupported size and offer me to reduced to 48/16.
In the setup menu, Digital Audio allow 96/32...
What is wrong?
Is it because I have stereo tracks?
Should I work with 4 mono tracks?

What version of Metro are using, full, LX or SE?

If the answer is full, send me a small snippet of the file for analysis. Sorry for the delay in response.

It should not matter if you work with mono or stereo tracks.

Thank you for emailing me the file.

Well there appears to be a problem with the way it is written. The file compression (or type in this case) written is 'FL32' and it should be lowercase 'fl32'. You can either manually go in and edit the file (make sure to have a backup) or you can wait for 6.4.7 of Metro which will be able to open this file type. You might also want to ask the creator of the software that wrote this file why she is not writing the correct file type here?

Note also that itunes will not open this file either.

How can I do that?
With the terminal?

The easiest way is probabaly to get a program like HexEdit. Run it. Open the audio file and look for the first 'FL32' and change it to 'fl32'. Save as a different file name (to be safe). The new file will open in Metro.

I've found that Wave Agent allows to split my 4 tracks wave files. The resulting tracks can then be opened in Metro easily.
I'm glad to work wlth Metro on my mixes. Meanwhile I've tried some others DAW like Ardour, which is very intricate, and Reaper, which have a nice GUI, but as I go deeper I find that Metro does it fine and fast.
