Now that I'm using Konstakt Player as an output, all my volume settings in Metro are being ignored in playback. This doesn't seem right. I can set overall relative volumes in Konstakt Player, but that's all. I am also using Apple DLSMusicDevice as an output for my Allegro sound font, and it is not doing this; it respects my volume envelopes and settings.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

thanks

I am not sure what you are talking about here. I believe the kontakt player will respect volume if you send controller 7 (MIDI volume) to it.

I am not doing anything special. I just create outputs in Metro and assign the GPO instrument in KontaktPlayer. But if I use the Graphic Editor in Metro, choose Controller/Main Volume in the popup menu, and draw in any volume changes, they do not happen in playback. They do happen if I use another player like Apple DLSMusicDevice or the default Quicktime instruments, so I know I am entering the data correctly.

I do that and it works fine for me.

Make sure play automation is enabled in the mixer window.

If you want to email me a Metro file containing note data and main volume controller data, I will take a look.

Okay I got your document and it is definitely a GPO configuration problem. Have you asked Garritan about this?

Anyway the answer is this. Go to the GPO editor and for each instrument not responding to volume do this:

Click on the gears icon to bring up the instrument options. Select the controller tab and make sure that 'accept standard controllers for volume and pan' is selected. I hope Gary (Garritan) will put me on the support payroll .

Whether he does or not, you sure earned a place on my Christmas card list. I would never have figured that out by myself.

thanks again!
