Automation curves handling

Postby Paul » Tue Jul 24, 2007 10:22 am

Jerm,

is it possible to implement the following feature: when double clicking on an automation curve in the graphic editor, a dot appears on the curve, which can then be moved around (up/down, left/right). Double clicking the dot deletes it. With this feature it would be much easier to use automation. Faster than having to use the Options -> Continuous data feature I resort to now.

You know, make it a bit like the way automation is handled in Ableton Live for example :D

FYI:

If you hold down the control key you can draw straight lines.

The problem with your suggestion is that when this is implemented you lose control over the resolution that events are rendered and also the events have to be rendered in real time (or pre-rendered).

I didn't know, I'll try it out!

OK... I don't really understand these technical ramifications but if you say so... :) It's a pity though, I would have loved the ease of handling the curves like that.
