naming multiple instances of plugin

Postby fastlanephil » Sat Jan 06, 2007 1:07 pm

When I'm loading multiple instances of the GPO library, the Players show as GPO, GPO 2, GPO 3, ect but the first two are listed in the track output sometimes as both GPO 2. If I delete an instance and then create a new one it will go to the next number so my current project shows them as GPO 2, GPO 2 and GPO 4 but they are named GPO, GPO 2, GPO 3 on the GPO Kontakt player modules.

Is there a way to rename them in the tracks outputs or is this an issue with the GPO player.

There is no way to rename them manually. Perhaps if you simply re-load the document they may be renamed properly. I am not quite sure. You can trace the I/O path by using the contextual menus on the track or mixer channel.

Well, I just won't worry about it.

Maybe the problem is because the Kontakt player only loads eight instruments but they show up in all sequencers as sixteen available in the tracks menu though only the first eight actually work. Just another example of NI's coding I guess.

If only the first 8 work, you can modify outputs and busses (and with the tick selected to replace existing instruments) allocate GPO from 1-8 channels in the dialog box thus removing 9-16 - never to be seen again.
(If there is a need for drums add the instruments as 1-7 and then on the next line 1 instrument starting at channel 10 if that format is required).

Is this adding another instance onto a track or aux?

How many tracks are you working with?
