Do you get sound directly. In other words, if you plug in the headphones and then play on the keyboard to you get sound?

If you go to Apple's Audio MIDI Setup program (utilities folder) and click on test studio, you should be able to click on the roland device and have it produce sound. Also, in test studio mode, if you play a key on the roland keyboard you should be hear your Macintosh speaker beep. Does this work?

Postby azizadeparis » Tue Nov 14, 2006 9:59 am

I get a bip in the speakers as soon as I click on the studio test and the interface input is selected but still no sound. and after downloading the program names for Roland I got a "Safari can't open it, none of the applications can". does it need a special application ?

If you do not get sound out of the Roland by clicking on it's icon then you have some kind of configuration problem. Most likely your MIDI cable is not connected correctly or is malfunctioning. Otherwise you may have your MIDI setup configured incorrectly. You really need to get AMS working properly before continuing.

AUTO REC, AUTO STOP, AUTO REWIND are 3 buttons in the control panel in DP : automatic punch in and out during recording, automatic stop of playback or recording, automatic rewinding to the memory start location . So I wonder why they get enabled when I hit certain keys of my Roland XP 60 while I can't get no sound.

What is DP? I hope it is not Digital Performer because if it is then you are wasting our time.

Now that you are reading this message........scroll up to the top of the screen where the following is written:

Sagan Technology Metro
The place to interact with other Metro users.

The words 'Metro users' may tell you this is not a discussion group for problem solving for DP.
However you could compare the 2 programs as a useful means to an end to invoke a possible new feature in Metro if you wish.
