Seems that you need the original LM4 mk2 CD to update to an OS X version.
Also a question for Jerm - I may be getting hold of an LM4 (mk1) Vsti CD in a few days. Should it work in Metro 6 under OS 9?

Thanks

Simon,

It should work. However I have not tried this particular plug-in and I know that some cubase plug-ins only work in cubase.

I think the older plugins wouldn't work.

Once they realised they could sell to non cubase users they made them more compatible. Should work ok. :)

Seems you are right Scooterman. I got a lend of an LM4 which appears to load up ok and it opens up with its own window, but when I choose one of the available kits that come with the LM4 the actual drum samples don't seem to load, and underneath each drum stays written 'xxxx'. However the information from the LM4 drum kits loads in as I notice that the volume/pan sliders change as a different kit is chosen. I take it at this stage that only the LM4 mk11 will work, and as stated above, one needs an LM4 mk11 disk in order to have the OS X LM4 updater file to work as a VSTi drum plug-in for Metro under OS X. (which is all I'm looking for in the long run!) Incidently if anyone does need a drum VSTi for OS 9 the SR202 plug-in by Muon software (www.muon-software.com) works quite well, and is free!.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying. I do know that some plug-ins expect to find data files in certain places and that if you are running OS 9 you may need to add an alias inside the Metro application package or drag the Metro PPC app out of the application in order for it to work.

In the LM4 manual it has a screenshot of it being used in Cubase and shows under each of the drum buttons, a name such as 'bass' or 'snare' etc. I kind of suspected myself that it's probably a simple problem as you say of the plug-in not finding the samples. I experimented a little with putting samples in various places, and I'll try what you suggest Jerm. Thanks anyhow.
