renames names when rendering to audio

Postby fastlanephil » Wed Jan 25, 2006 1:10 am

When I render to audio if I have a name like Violin 1, when I render it to audio it will change the number and it will also add numbers to other instrument names without numbers.

I'm running 10.4.4

I am not sure I understand what you are saying but keep this in mind. When a soft-synth track, which sends MIDI data to a soft-synth, is rendered, the resultant track is no longer a MIDI track. It is now an audio track and as such it cannot be assigned to the same output that a MIDI track is. This fact may require Metro to add an audio output. Are you saying that the new audio output is misnamed? Surely you don't want to have it named the same as the original as this would certainly cause confusion. No?

It's the instrument names in the first colunm that are getting numbers put on them . The ones that you just type in using the option key not the next colunm for the outputs. This piece has eighteen instruments names.

If I have a violin assigned to a soft-synth, say DLS MusicDevice, and it is on track 1 and I then render it, I end up with track 1 muted and a new track 2 named 'violin' assigned to an audio out. So I am still not sure what you are talking about. :?

I think my problem stems from a too full hard drive. I was down to 1.5 GBs of room. I have been getting some clicks lately also. Thanks for the quick response.
