Track sheet setup...

Postby w » Mon Nov 28, 2005 12:27 pm

How do I setup the opening track sheet in Metro LX/SE OS X.

I have 3 midi devices setup in OS X ( TIGER ) audio midi setup, as follows:

Roland's XP80 keyboard, D110 sound module, VS1680 hard disk recorder.

In Metro's LX/SE midi setup I have record from, receive sync from and send sync to XP80.

Every time I startup the track sheet shows 48 tracks all set to Port D110.

Then when I import a midi file or want to do a midi/audio recording I have to assign each track to either my keyboard or sound module.

How do get Metro LX/SE to open up showing me for example just 16 tracks of XP-80 and 8 tracks of D110.

( At this time I am not ready to deal with using/sync the VS1680 with Metro. )

You should just need for starters........the devices to show up in the RECORD FROM section. For my devices that's all I need.

If you have one device there, you can add other devices to it by selecting the popup and choosing one of the other names.

Once you have them all there, then go to the modify outputs and busses and create 16 outputs for each and have ticked the 'replace existing' to remove the original 48.

Save the prefs once you're happy.

Then when you open a midi you just need to select the outputs, bank and pgms to be used for each track in the tracks window.
