SampleTank2.1

I just installed ST2.1. They did fix the expression sax problem. The VST version has the same problem loading into Metro that Philharmonic does. Again the AU version of ST2.1 does work with Metro. The stand alone version is nice for just finding sounds or playing around with. There should be a sound set upgrade coming out soon. I hope it's not to much more money.

What problem is that? I think this is a Metro problem and not a ST2.1 problem per se. Metro does not know if a plug-in is multi-timbral or not until someone tells it. Sampletank and Sampletank II were known plug-ins before Metro went out so the default sagantechplugininfo file contains information on them. The same is not true for ST 2.1. Or perhaps you are referring to something else.

ST2 Problem

Postby fastlanephil » Sat Nov 12, 2005 11:34 pm

This is the error message I get when I try to load either Philharmonic or ST2.1 onto an aux bus.

Error: Too many outputs. Plug-in can not be loaded.

This is just with the VST versions.

Another big problem is that ST2.1 only shows one output instead of the sixteen like ST2. Philharmonic shows all sixteen.

I don't know about Philharmonic, but ST 2.1 can easily be configured for 16 outputs or less in its preferences dialog.

This is most likely because you have not control-clicked the plug-in in the plug-ins window and selected 'plug-in is multitimbral' and therefore is being installed on a track and not an aux buss.

I have a 933 G4 iBook now so I can't test it on a G3 but i'm just curious about how they are able to do a quality reverb plug-in without altivec. I remember reading about developers creating quality reverb effect modeling a few years ago and they were dependant on altivec to accomplish it.
