OMS factory names files

Postby murphy » Mon Jun 06, 2005 7:07 am

Excuse me for being a bit of course here in looking for some help with this problem. I know that you folks here a very knowledgeable and helpfull.

I am looking for the OMS factory names files for the Yamaha PSR series. ( Yes, I still use StudioVisionPro, )

I had them away back when however somehow or another they got zapped from the OMS Factory names folder.

Using that "Studio Patches Editor" is very time and patience demanding. I can't recall how I originally got those OMS factory names for the PSR.

Can someone here help me with this one.

Is this like the text .ins file that works in metro?
It's been so long since I've relied on OMS hehehe.

If so, which PSR model are you after?

The ease of using OS X audio/midi setup is not appreciated until you try to use OMS/FreeMIDI sequencrs in OS 9 and prior.

I have a huge collection of "Adobe Premiere" and VST plugs that can't be used in OS X. Also in my opinion some of those plugs are better then what exists under OS X. Now, occassionally I need to add some special fx to an audio file I created with an OS X sequencer. In those cases I bounce back to StudioVisionPro ( running in OS 8.6 ) and apply those special fx.

I am looking for the PSR series such as the 9000.

The OMS device documents are documents created as I understand it by the Studio Patches editor. As I noted, I've found that programme very hard to use. I've opened those OMS device documents using BBEdit only to discover that they have very specific instructions for comunicating with the synth/sound modual. To alter the device documents with BBEdit would no doubt create havoc with the synth/modual unless one understands all the different lines of text.

To bad there isn't a way to compile a FreeMIDI device document to become a OMS device document. The FreeMIDI device documents are created using Apple's SimpleText and very easy to change without destroying a synth/modual.

Incidently, i'v reinstalled OMS and the Yamaha PSR device documents not there. This leaves me to conclude that some dedicated OMS/PSR user created the OMS device profile and gave it away on one of the opcode user forums.
