Sample Tank wont output

Postby jukehouse » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:53 pm

I have downloaded Sample Tanks free Sonik Synth.
It appears to have installed correctly as it shows up as both an AU and VST
in the plug-ins window. I can drag it to the effects window and it shows up there. BUT I cant get any sound to output.

My M-Audio keyboard will trigger the built in Quicktime sounds properly. It also appears that the keyboard is triggering something in the Sonik Synth because when I hit the edit on the Effects window to bring up the Sonik Synth it comes up and striking a key on the M-Audio causes a visual response on the Sonik Synth window but no sound outputs.

Did you assign the record-enabled track to the correct MIDI port? Do you see any output in the vu meters in the mixer window?

There is no output in the VU meters in the mixer window.
From where do I assign the midi port ?
I assigned the Output in the Tracks Window to "Sonik Synth"

In the effects window make sure that the effect output is routed to a correct audio output. Also if it is routed to an aux buss make sure that the aux buss is being sent to your audio card by double clicking the aux buss name in the mixer window.

You should probably first right click on the plug in the plugins window and check 'multi-timbral'. Then select the plug-in from the graphic editor's soft synth popup (Metro 6.2 or greater). This does a lot of the work for you.

Put it on an auxbus and you see the back side of the device and clicking gives you the message of only one instance allowed in the free version.....and it gives you this message even if it isn't placed anywhere else. (OOPS my mistake.......put it on the auxbus first and you're ok. Put it on a track, remove it and place it on the aux and it thinks you still have it there.........it must be counting its use).

If you place the plugin on a track the only thing you should need to do to get it to work is double click on an instrument on the right hand side so it ends up on the left.

The yellow arrow below is pointing to the midi port number it is sitting on.
If you were to put a drum kit here, you set the number to 10 and it can be heard.

The green arrow is displaying your level.

Well apparently when you download the free Sonik Synth you have to also download the free sounds seperately. Duh!
I didnt do that at first so there were no instruments showing up. So now Ive downloaded them but there still not showing up. I guess I'm not sure where to put the folders that I get when I download the free sounds.
