Snap to Grid for Audio Edit Regions

Postby Industro » Fri Jan 28, 2005 7:17 pm

I'd love to see "Snap to Grid" (1/4 note, 1/8 note, etc.) when using the "Audio Edit Regions" feature in the graphic editor window.

I want to slide my audio regions into new locations within the track, but I want it to "snap" to the proper note timing (right now, it just drops anywhere I release it).

This would be very helpful for audio loops that I want to rearrange within a track.

Think Apple's "Garage Band" or "Acid" (or other "loop based" audio editors) that allow you to "drag & drop" audio regions.

Also, it would be helpful to add a feature that would "drag-copy" the region of concern (like holding down the shift or option key while dragging a region will copy/paste it to the new location).

This would be very helpful!

Let me know if this is a possibility for a future release.

Thanks Jerm.

Yes this would be pretty easy to implement.

Note that you can option drag already to make copies.

Actually it is implemented.

Simply select note edit quantization on and then select the correct note duration.... duh.

Aw shucks!

It's been right under my nose for months and here I've been searching far and wide for it!

Thanks for the wake up call!
