This release fixes several problems and performance of VST plug-ins under OS X is dramatically improved.
SE users now have access to audio functions normalize and group normalize!
• A bug where opening files in SE with remote-control written by non-SE version was eliminated.
• Audio output names are bracketed more accurately when they are missing.
• Importing large amount of MIDI files no longer fails with an -108 out of memory error.
• Audio performance enhancements.
• New MIDI VU meter on input. This works significantly better in OS X than OS 9.
• Some parameters were not being updated in the effects window when the effect did not have an edit window.
• Effects chains were not always behaving correctly after clearing a link.
• Synth plug-ins (VSTI's, Music Devices, etc.) were not always behaving correctly after undo.
• Performance optimizations in the instruments window.
• New MIDI Icon in effects window appears when plug-in accepts MIDI data.
• A serious performance enhancement has been added to VST plug-ins under OS X.
• It was possible in some rare circumstances that the effects name in the effects window was not selectable. This is fixed.
• Cosmetic changes in the effects window.
• MIDI is now sent to ALL plug-ins in the chain. In previous versions Metro sent MIDI only to the first plug-in in a plug-in chain that wanted MIDI. This new powerful feature allows one to, for example, place a resonant filter plug-in that accepts MIDI after the SoundFont synth and then use controllers to modify parameters in the resonant filter plug-in. I recommend people checkout the free FrOhmAge. This is an excellent free resonant filter plug-in. I like to use it after a saw wave sound. Note that MIDI filtering, for individual plug-ins in the effects chain, will most likely be added in the next release.
