I would like loop recording on Midi track while listening to Audio track.
But , Audio track simply plays back , not looping.
How can I make it loop ?

Select the audio and go to the SPECIAL menu and select LOOPING.

Click the radio button - 'For many hours' and click OK.

I don't know if Scoot's advice will work. I would simply click the loop button in the graphic editor or track's window.

Audio will definitely work with subsections also if necessary.

Having more of a play with this, it was probably the clicking the box (like Jerm said) that made it loop.

Strange thing is.....once I got the number of bars in the track to show *** and metro then played just the area I selected.
Without this it plays the whole thing over and over again.

The manual states metro doesn't support audio looping so is it hit and miss?

I suppose to have more control over what area you're looping, you could just select an area, copy and paste it several times.....but then you aren't looping.

Loops within a track are only supported when the track type is external MIDI. They do not even work with Soft-Synth MIDI tracks although this is slated to be fixed soon.

What does work is subsections. You can loop any part of track by having a subsection that contains the loop and then you can piece them together in a parent section. All of the indivdual subsections can have tracks that loop at independent lengths. With this method you can even loop say 4 and 3/4 times.

The beuty of Metro is there are multiple way of achieving the same goal. That is what I like about this program.

When it comes to audio looping, it treat it just as I would a midi draw. For example, let's say I have a 2 mesure audio recording that I want to loop. I just go to the graphic editor, highlight the 2 mesures, then set the start bar at the 3rd mesure, goto edit, select paste and.. choose how many times that I want it to loop, and done. Of course the loop has to be timed exactly in tempo (Metro can do this easily enough if the tempo is unknown). Also the adio loops beond the original sound are not "real" untill mixdown.
