MIDI recording

Would be nice if the track VU meter shows MIDI input (like audio)

What about showing the notes in the graphic editor while recording? right now nothing appears until you stop recording...

This is implemented in 6.05i5. Please tell me though... Should the input VU reflect the state of the volume/mastervolume faders? :?:

Right now it simply shows input regardless of the volumes and I think this is correct. However this is different behavior than the other MIDI vu's in Metro.

Great! I'm quite sure this is correct for input, the faders having effect only on output/playback.

Good question. Admitted lack of clearness. The right term is 'reflect'.

BTW, that leads to a general question about the instruments window. I think it has great potential to act as control and display of a connected MIDI device, ie. to 'reflect' the state of the device at any time. For example it would be nice to see that on GS reset all faders go to 100, all programs to 0 etc. I regard that kind of reflection very helpful, since MIDI is *state-oriented* and it's always good to know the actual state. Partly this is already implemented and the question is how far to go ...
