In Praise of Metro!

Sometimes on other forums, when discussing Audio/Midi/Video Apps.,
they talk of how professional Cubase/Logic/ProTools/etc., are and that other programs like Metro are not so professional.
To me Metro 6 is just as professional and its ease of use plus the great
and quick support of Metro gives me the tools I need for all my Audio/Midi projects with very satisfying results.
I feel that if I needed to take my Audio and Midi tracks into a studio that used Protools, that i could import the files into ProTools and do any editing there. But since I have no needed to do that, because Metro handles any project and does it easily.
Now don't get me wrong, All the other programs are great programs, I have used Cubase and Logic, but I just like the form and support of Metro. THIS IS JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION!

5 Thumbs up for Jeremy and all the Metro Team!!!!

Gary,

Thank you very much. It makes us very happy :D :D when our hard work is appreciated.

I think that a recent macmusic forum where someone expressed frustration that so many news submissions of Metro pre-releases was unfair. These pre-releases are designed to help the user base by providing quick turnarounds to bug-fixes and feature requests. Most likely this frustrated logic user has never used Metro, nor visited this forum.

The other comment I hear a lot is that when you bring your project into a professional music studio they are using Pro-tools. However, most users have all the tools they need to create a finished CD on their own computer rather than pay an engineer $100 or more per hour to do it. And, as you point out, it is not too hard to convert tracks to audio and import them into pro-tools if necessary.

A view comments taken from the poll down the right hand side at www.osxaudio.com (noting Metro wasn't included in the poll) and a comment by a logic user.

Metro?

Prefer DP 4 to Logic. But, what about Metro? It's a good entry-level DAW with lots of capability, and it supports all the plugs.

Maybe it's not because this site is read by a majority of Logic-based users, but rather the majority of OSX users are actually Logic-based. If that's the case then this Poll is useful.

I don't see the URL being OSXLogic.com, do you?

Where the &#^@ is Metro?

This poll isn't terribly valid without Metro, Nuendo, Deck etc.

If logic supported more plugin formats and was cheaper I'd use it. For now, Metro (full version), occasionally supplanted by Protools, Numerology, and Plogue. Metro's incredible support and constant improvements are just so reassuring.

Metro?

Metro has a long ways to go before its going to get my attention. so far, the app looks like it requires a user interface overhaul. Maybe take a look at Traktion and gleen some ideas from that.

Doesn't matter that there's no x-grade to Logic from Performer, btw. I'm so happy I was exposed to Logic. If I hadn't had a friend show it off to me, I never would have bought a copy. I get 2x the number of plug-ins now. I guess this makes me a logic guy..well, at least until something better comes along. I think Performer needs some serious lov'n from MOTU. Maybe a UI re-write and audio engine overhaul would be a smart idea. Oh yeah, Logic's plug-in are brilliant. Why don't I hear people speak about this more often here. The instruments are mind blowing, but beyond that the effects are superb. Has Logic always beent his way? or was it Apple that made it sound so nice?

Scoot - and the main logic user's complaint is - "my favourite plugin is VST......when's the AU coming out?"
